Kicking Off 2025 with a Special Tour
The very first tour of 2025 was with two amazing ladies traveling across Italy, who chose to stop in Livorno for a couple of days.
We met in the morning and began our day like locals — with a cappuccino in a local café, chatting and learning about the city’s rich history.
Exploring the Venice District
Our adventure took us to the famous Venice District, a unique area with canals, colorful buildings, and the stunning Church of Saint Catherine.
It’s a picturesque and peaceful neighborhood that captures the soul of Livorno.
Market Life and Local Delights
Next stop: the lively Central Market of Livorno, an architectural marvel from the 19th century. This place will leave you breathless with its vibrant energy, friendly vendors, and rows of fresh, local food.
While strolling and laughing together, we couldn’t resist some classic local treats:
-
A freshly fried frate — a must-try Livornese pastry.
-
A celebratory glass of Prosecco — because, when in Italy!
-
A slice of cake at the iconic Torteria da Gagarin, beloved by locals.
The Magic of Ponce
One of my favorite stops on every tour? Ponce, the warm and aromatic traditional Livornese drink.
We enjoyed it at the historic bar where Stefano, a true storyteller, prepares each cup while sharing the fascinating story behind this unique beverage.
Moments like this are what make Livorno: a hidden gem in Tuscany so unforgettable.
Feel Like a Local in Livorno
One of the best things about Livorno is how quickly you feel like you belong.
Locals are warm, chatty, and always willing to help — even if their English isn’t perfect, they’ll find a way to connect, using gestures, smiles, or even drawings!
Livorno: a hidden gem in Tuscany welcomes you with open arms, delicious food, vibrant culture, and that relaxed coastal vibe that makes you never want to leave.
